What is Daughter of the Drift?
Daughter of the Drift is the creative studio and coastal goods collection of artist Ebb Harper, based in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland.
It's a collection of things made, found and gathered by the sea including original artwork, Logbooks, paper goods, bags, pennants, signs, objects and other coastal curiosities.
Some things are made by me. Some are sourced from other makers. Some are one-of-a-kind finds. Everything is chosen because I think it's worth bringing into the Drift.
Who is Ebb Harper?
I'm Ebb, an artist and designer based in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland.
Daughter of the Drift grew out of my love of making things, collecting things and paying attention to the little details of life around the sea.
Are all the products made by you?
No, and that's part of the fun! Some pieces are designed and made by me, while others are sourced, collected or curated from makers and places I love.
You'll find the story of each product on its individual listing, so you can see where it came from and what makes it special.
Where are orders packed and shipped from?
Every order is packed by me from my studio in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland... just a couple of streets back from the sea.
There isn't a warehouse between you and your order. It's me, my bench and probably a growing pile of packaging.

Are your artworks original?
Yes. Original artworks are one-of-a-kind pieces created by Ebb Harper.
Selected works may also be reproduced as postcards, art cards or prints, but the original artwork remains a unique piece.
What is The Logbook Collection?
The Logbook Collection is a range of field logbooks for people who live outside. Made for recording conditions, catches, trips, finds, sketches, maps, memories and the things you notice along the way.
They're not traditional journals or diaries. They're records of the external world - what you saw, found, caught, learned and experienced.
What's the difference between logging and journalling?
Journalling tends to be about feelings, thoughts and the internal world.
Logging is about what's happening around you, what you saw, caught, found, noticed, measured or learned.
There's no right way to use a Logbook. Some entries might be three lines. Others might fill a page.
What is a Drift Imprint Kit?
The Drift Imprint Kit is a tactile little field kit for recording the shapes and textures of things you discover.
Find a shell, leaf, feather, fossil, coin or another small object, make an imprint and add it to your Daughter of the Drift Logbook.
It's a simple way to slow down, pay attention and turn a passing find into part of your own visual record.
Can I give Daughter of the Drift products as gifts?
Absolutely.
You'll find a Good to Gift collection in the shop with pieces chosen especially for gifting, but almost anything in the collection can make a thoughtful gift — particularly Logbooks, Imprint Kits, bags, paper goods and smaller coastal pieces.
Do you make everything in small batches?
Not everything.
Some products are made in small batches or limited quantities. Others are one-of-a-kind, while some are sourced from makers I love and may be available on an ongoing basis.
The individual product listing will tell you more about each piece.
Will products be restocked?
Sometimes.
Some things are made in small runs and will return when I can make or source them again. Other pieces are one-of-a-kind and, once they're gone, they're gone.
If there's something you particularly don't want to miss, Drift Mail is the best place to hear about new releases and restocks.
How much is shipping?
Shipping costs vary depending on the product and destination. Please check the individual product listing for current shipping options and rates.
How quickly will my order ship?
Orders are packed by hand and are generally dispatched within 2–3 business days. Some handmade, made-to-order or pre-order pieces may have a different timeframe, which will be noted on the individual product listing.
You'll receive tracking information once your order is on its way.
Do you ship internationally?
International shipping may be available on selected products. Please check the individual product listing for available destinations and shipping options.
Please note that international customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, import fees or other charges imposed by their country. These costs are not included in the purchase price or shipping charge and are the responsibility of the recipient.
What happens if my order is held by customs?
International orders may be subject to customs inspection, duties, taxes or other import requirements in the destination country. These are outside the control of Daughter of the Drift.
If your order is delayed or held by customs, please contact your local customs authority for information about the applicable requirements or charges.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Please get in touch as soon as possible with photos of the damaged item and packaging.I'll assess what has happened and work with you to make it right.
Can I return or exchange something?
I want you to be happy with your order. Returns and exchanges are considered in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Because some Daughter of the Drift pieces are one-of-a-kind, limited or made specifically for you, the conditions can vary between products.

Who packs the orders?
Me. Every single one! I'm Ebb Harper, and I pack your orders by hand in my studio in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland.
