Drift Imprint Kit

Turn something you've found into something you can keep.

The Drift Imprint Kit is a little field kit for recording the shapes, textures and treasures you discover along the way.

Find a shell on the beach, a leaf on a walk, a feather, fossil, coin or another small object with an interesting shape. Make an imprint, then add it to your Daughter of the Drift Logbook.

It's a simple, tactile way to slow down, pay attention and turn a passing find into part of your own visual record.

What's included

Everything you need to start making imprints:

• 1 × Daughter of the Drift Logbook — choose Indexed or Gridded
• 1 × archival black ink pad — acid-free and fade-resistant
• 1 × round plywood pressing board
• 1 × kneadable eraser — supplied in its own storage case
• 2 × large sticks of Blu Tack — pre-cut into smaller pieces for easy use
• 1 × resealable Blu Tack storage bag
• 4 × blank cards + matching envelopes
• 2 × small kraft note card envelopes
• 1 × small calico storage pouch for ink and tack

Everything arrives together in one compact kit, ready to throw in your backpack, keep in the glovebox, take camping or pack for your next trip.

Made from my own practice

The Imprint Kit grew from my own habit of recording the things I find.

These are the same materials I use when creating imprints in my own Daughter of the Drift logbooks. I've refined the process over time and gathered together the things that work beautifully, so you can start recording your own discoveries straight away.

Each kit is thoughtfully assembled by hand in my studio in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland.

Take it with you

Make prints from shells, leaves, feathers, fossils, coins, fishing finds, natural textures and small objects with interesting shapes.

If you can find it and safely press it, there's a good chance you can make a record of it.

Take it beachcombing. Keep it in the car. Pack it for camping, a bushwalk or your next holiday. Then come home with a little more evidence of where you've been.
